"Allocate"; Short Film Concept, Storyboard and Animatic

Here is a selection of the final storyboards and concept art submitted for my short film project for a Visual Story Development class.

Story summary/pitch: "In a world simulated through a console, or system, a young man, [Player], gains self-awareness of the system through mysterious means and acquires the ability to restart days, correcting mistakes or wrong choices to achieve a desired outcome. However, as this ability runs against the design of the system, using it for extended periods of time creates bugs and glitches that gradually overtakes the simulation and runs risks of crashing the whole system. [Player] must realize the consequences of his cheating before everything falls apart."
This selection of scenes shows that [PLAYER] is used to his ability and is regularly using it to cheat his way through his life--restarting unsuccessful encounters such as asking out a girl (Leigh) until he is successful. The animatic ends as the system begins to warn [Player] of the incoming danger, but the story continues beyond that. This is a condensed version for storyboard and animatic use.
